Using the VirtuoSaph Plus EVH System Without Heparin
Dr. Amir Osama Mohammed is a Senior Clinical Fellow at Freeman Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom. Further, he is a lecturer of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Alexandria University in Egypt. Dr. Mohammed started several Endoscopic Vessel Harvesting (EVH) programs in centers across the Middle East and Asia (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan) and still regularly teaches the EVH technique to other harvesters. Together with his colleagues from Egypt and Kuwait, Dr. Mohammed conducted, a study on the use of heparin versus no heparin before EVH using the VirtuoSaph® Plus EVH System and concluded, that there was no difference between the two groups regarding intraluminal thrombus formation
