Dr. David Tecchio

David Tecchio, PA-C, MBA, MPAS, is the Director of Cardiac, Vascular and Thoracic Advanced Practice at Nuvance Health in Poughkeepsie, New York. Serving in this position since 2014, his responsibilities have previously included overseeing all the surgical physician assistants within the legacy Health Quest system. In 1998, David graduated magna cum laude in Physician Assistant Studies from Daemen College, in Buffalo, NY. In 2000 David earned his Master's in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Nebraska, with a focus in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery. He then went on to receive his Master's in Business Administration with a focus on hospital administration. David will be granted the Doctor of Medical Science in the Spring of 2024. David enjoys mentoring less experienced staff and seeing them grow. He enjoys the comprehensive scope of cardiovascular surgery – seeing patients preoperatively, in the operating room, and postoperatively. David also likes the level of autonomy in this specialty and says that it isn’t often seen in other surgical disciplines. David has been married to his wife, Samantha, for 23 years and has three wonderful children.
